It's the end of another quarter. Yay! Needless to say I am looking forward to the 6-week long break. The one thing I'm not looking forward to is the lack of a job. Yeah, that will suck. Here's to hopefully finding some kind of job for the break. One that I can continue to have after June when I graduate and can no longer work here at the lab. :-( <---that's my sad face because I can't work at the lab after June.... 13th. I'm almost 7 months away from graduating. Holy crap!

Confessions of a.....supervisor? (One of many daily freak-outs)

I agree with David, Jeff needs to let us all know how he's doing.

Yep...still Precollege. But only 3 weeks left of the summer session. I'll finally be done with my French requirement [YAY!!!!] and will never have to take a foreign language again. That is, until I decide to torture myself in grad school. :-)

This summer has been pretty chill. I'm only taking 12 credit hours (as opposed to the 16 and 18 credit hours I've taken for the past two years). I've been reading....A LOT! In the past 8 weeks, I've read 17 books. In fact I'm probably going to finish up my 18th book tomorrow. Heh, I read fast.

There really isn't much else to say. Days sort of run together. Even Saturday and Sunday. The summer is almost over, soon it will be fall quarter, then that will come to a end in 3 months. Which means I'll be turning 22. I don't like it. Before I know it the school year will be over and I'll be done with undergrad. I REALLY don't like that. Especially since I have no idea what the heck I'm doing come June.

I'm incredibly bored!!! There isn't anything going on here in the lab. Heck, I'd even enjoy some students coming to the window to get their schedules. It's been a pretty eventful summer. I can't believe it's almost over. In three weeks I'm heading back home. Boo. My sister will be getting remarried to this guy named Mike. He's a pretty nice guy, for the most part. Glad she got her hands on someone nice for a change.

I think Jeff should get on here and post how he's doing - yeah, that's a good idea! The only folks who post anything are Sarah, Wendy and I. We should get John to do some blogging too.

These two precollege advisers came walking by the window meowing like dying kitties. That was the highlight of my day. :D

Precollege has started (WARNING! SARCASM AHEAD!)

Boy, I just love precollege. I love it how uptown Athens turns into a circus filled with incoming students and their equally oblivious parents crowding the streets, the bookstores, and the fast food restaurants. Its my favorite time of the year next to opening weekend.

On the plus side, its fun to laugh at the people who don't know how to drive in Athens. I've seen cars try to drive down Union St....the wrong way. And today, I saw a car stopped by APD that was facing the wrong way on Court St in front of Folletts. 

I want more entertainment like that. Ha ha ha

ALEX is DEAD!!!

Yes, it's true ALEX as we know it is no more! It was so enjoyable tearing him apart piece by piece. Really wanted to recreate the scene from Office Space and take it out somewhere and just beat it to a pulp! Ok, Alex has lasted for a while, but not without LOTS of problems. Now, we have an awesome Xserve and it is working wonderfully. It's faster and a lot less problems. It makes me happy!!! We are in clean out mode here! If you don't need it....toss it. Ah, I love throwing things away!!! OK, enough about that. Jeff, Carolyn and Hannah stopped in last week and it was so good to see them! I wish them well! I'm heading to Michigan for a workshop next week. Wish me luck, never done anything quite like this one before. I hope it goes ok. OK, enough rambling. Someone else post!!!!!! Have a great day!

Jeffrey Update

I FINALLY heard from Jeffrey this morning! He finishes up his classes this Friday. He is carpooling with 2 other guys to his classes everyday so that saves on gas. He will finish up his orientation at the mine on Monday and then be on to the real job! He says hi to everyone!

Week 5 Update

So it's midterms week (no w00t!) I have a French comp due tomorrow (haven't started on it yet), an exam in Social Psy on Wednesday, a midterm in Poetry class (also on Wednesday), and  my research prospectus for Psy of Gender due on Thursday.

In other news, I baked sugar cookies last night instead of doing my homework. I think it was a fair trade. They were good too. Ha ha ha.

Holy crap... this weekend...

WHOOOO!
Yesterday, was my first ever attempt at taking the Praxis exam! The exam wasn't THAT bad. Getting to the test center... was. My car died about 10 different times. I make it to the OUZ (ohio university of Zanesville) and car dies one last time. lol

Anyhoo take the spanish portion of the exam, was finished like 30 minutes early. Get back to my car after everyone finished and find that I had locked myself out of it... and to make matters more lovely, I left my headlights on! So I wonder around campus till I find the library and get the number to OU PD. They help me out and give me a jump. I had lunch and drove for a little bit to make sure my car was charged up. I go and hide out in the library for a bit and I was ATTACKED by a cat. lol wasn't really attacked, but it jumped on me and I darn near soiled myself. It was a pretty kitty though, and really friendly.

Enough of mr. kitty, I went to take the second exam. Had to write a lot, but it was alright. I go to head home... AND GET LOST! I drove around like an idiot for nearly 4 and a half hours till I got back. Car died only 3-5 times, and I was ran off the road once by this jerk in a black truck. I left at 4 am and returned about 9pm. It was a looooooooooooong day.

Figured I'd share.

Well, it just another friday. OR IS IT????????????????? well yeah pretty much. Not much going on. I am gonna go fix some software things in lab 015. Eat lunch. Play some games. Then go home. I might be able to squeeze some more work in there somewhere. We will just have to wait and see. BLOG....

Anniversary

Today is my anniversary.....with OU. How exciting. I have worked here for 12 count 'em 12 years!!!!!! That is just too long for anyone...just kidding. Interesting to "celebrate" an anniversary on tax day, don't you think? Oh well, it's almost time to go get my little one and head home. Today was actually productive. Thursday yippieeeeeeeee. One more day till friday. Most people think the farthur away from monday you get the better the day. But monday is really as far from monday as you can get so shouldnt it be the best day of the week. Because when it is monday you have a whole week until it is monday again. So monday should really be the best day of the week. Oh well. Not much going on right now. Get to train someone at 10. I may blog later bye. oh and dont pay any attention to my mispellings. :P

Wednesday

Well, it's Wednesday afternoon and I have been without Jeffrey all day!!!! It makes for a long day. Why can't this department figure out a way to hire him full-time. I just don't understand it. Oh well, I digress....it's been a rather long day. So gloomy outside and hard to be motivated. Hopefully after a few days of rain, we will be in for some serious sunshine! That's what we all need. I need some motivation to stay on top of this school stuff...my LAST quarter yippee!!! Starting out good so far. Hopefully will keep ahead so I can work on my portfolio. I still can't believe I will have my Masters! Very exciting! OK, I will stop babbling now. Have a wonderful evening everyone!!!

Motivation needed to leave the lab...

Here I am sitting in the lab once again. lol. I successfully closed the LRC and now am just sitting here. I'm sick and don't really want to move anywhere, but I guess I should. I also had reading I was supposed to do, however, I didn't do it. I made signs for the lab instead. Great fun.

Yay Spring!!! ALMOST DONE! YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY. I'm sick. The lab has been pretty quiet today. I'm just sitting here admiring the awesome new sign we have in the lab. This quarter is gonna look pretty busy. HEY SOME ACTION HERE IN THE LAB! Molly Morrison is showing her class how to check out the labs and CD ROM. That's a good idea! ha... ummm. Time for a new quarter!

Happy first day of Spring Quarter! I was lucky enough to be here at 8am this morning (Thanks Wendy!). Not much happened. I sat around....answered the phone a couple of times then did a crossword puzzle with Jeff. Ahhh, life at the LRC. Only an hour and a half to go then it's off to class (w00t!).

(Then I'll be back at the LRC later this afternoon, so all is well.)

Long Long Day

Well, it's 3:20 and I am bored to tears! There is no one around! I did take advantage of the quiet and finish my internship paper.....yeah me! I am fighting with a company to get an invoice right now. This is the third day in a row that I have called them and they say they are faxing it. I guess I will just call every day or even twice a day until they actually do it. How hard can it be????? Just do your job already! GEESH!!! OK, one more hour and I'm out for the weekend. Back on Monday....woohoo!

Lonely Day

It is like a ghost town here today! No Jeff, No Jorg, and Alysia hasn't show up yet! David and Pradeep manning the lab today. I'm lonely!!! Guess I should be getting lots of work done today, hmmmmmm. Maybe. I have to work a fish fry tonight, so saving some of my energy. hehehe. I hope everyone is enjoying their time AWAY!!!!! Don't worry about me. The building is still standing and I'm still here....for now.

More Lunch

Soooooo I just got a piece of pizza from Baker. I knew it was an old piece of pizza cause you can just tell it has been setting there by itself for a little while. But generally reheated pizza is good. Not this time. It tastes not so great. But Hey, Im hungry so Im gonna eat it anyway.

Lunch was amazing! Now I am still hungry. But I have no food left. Dont know what to do about it. Guess I need to find something else.

I just discovered the most amazing thing since sliced pickles on oatmeal toast. Lean Pockets now has a crisper sleeve thingy that when you are done heating it, you fold the bottom together and it becomes a carrier. AWESsssssOMEEEeeeee. Time to eat, blog again in a few minutes.

Just set up a faculty computer to print to one of the network printers in one of the rooms in one of the buildings at one of the universities in one of the states on one of the contenents on one of the planets in one of the galaxies in the universe.
Speaking of galaxies, i just beat mario galaxy on the Nintendo Wii yesterday. I havent got all the stars yet but I am now working on the purple coment missions. Ill keep yall posted on that too. Check back at 10:00 am for another post. See ya.

Day 1 Hour 1

This is day one of finals week 2007/2008. There isnt much going on right now but it is only 8:30 am. Ill post as the day progresses and we will see if anything exciting happens. I think Katie is working in the lab and Wendy, Jorg , Jeff, Lora, and Jan are all here but not really working. Check back later for updates.
